Daley Newsletter-Summer 2011

Daley Newsletter Summer 2011 Summer has hit in Oklahoma. There have already been a couple of days that reached 100 degrees. I expect that in July and August but not the first of June. Ugh. This may be a long summer. I went to the water park with my granddaughters today. They had so much fun running around screaming and playing in the water sprays. I get so much out of watching them growing up. My third granddaughter will be staring school this fall. It won’t be long before the last one goes to school, too. Four granddaughters and four very different personalities. This has been a very busy year for me. I took over the presidency of American Christian Fiction Writers, a national (actually worldwide) writing organization. I will be doing some traveling this summer...

Daley’s Newsletter Spring 2011

I hope all of you had a great Christmas. I did, but then with four granddaughters it’s hard not to get into the holidays and have fun. But I am so glad that spring is here. The flowers are blooming, the grass is starting to get green and the trees are leafing out. I love this time of year, especially after this snow filled winter. There were two weeks I was snowed in and only left the house when my husband took me to the grocery store. And that trip ended with our car stuck out in front of our house in the middle of the road. We had almost two feet of snow and Tulsa isn’t equipped for that kind of snow. I’ve been baby-sitting my granddaughters lately. It has been so much fun to see the things they like to do. They like to play zoo at my house. They get all...

Merry Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas! I can’t believe it is the holidays again. This year has flown by. My four granddaughters are growing up so fast. The oldest is now ten and the youngest twenty months. She just recently moved out of her baby bed into a big girl bed. And my three year old has informed me she isn’t scared of Santa anymore. It is just starting to get cold here in Oklahoma. I love a chill to the air, Thanksgiving food and seeing friends and family. I am one of those people who love to listen to Christmas music. I’ll tell you a secret. Sometimes I do during the year. I hope each of you have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year. May 2011 be a great year for you.   This year has been a good one for me. I sold my 75th book in September. I am now...

Daley’s Newsletter Fall 2010

It is finally getting cooler in Oklahoma. This was a brutal summer temperature wise. Labor Day weekend was last weekend and my family came over for dinner. I laughed so much playing with my granddaughters. They made up a dance routine and performed it for us. It was great. Even the sixteen month old got into the middle of it by trying to do a somersault. Of course, all she did was put the top of her head down on the floor and kick up one of her legs behind her. Not quite there but probably this time next year she will be tumbling all over the place. Boy, do they grow up fast! In November I have my third and last book in the Helping Hands Homeschooling Series out with Love Inspired. It is called A Daughter for Christmas. The back blurb reads: Dr. Max Connors had...

Daley’s News Summer 2010

Dear Readers: Summer is a time for vacations, cooking out, tending the gardens, going swimming, staying inside with the air conditioner going because it is one hundred degrees outside, dieting and exercising to get into that bathing suit (probably should have done this one in the spring), and reading books (hopefully on a beach). I’m going on a vacation with my husband this summer and hope to read tons of books I haven’t had a chance to while working. Well, probably not tons but at least three or four.  I love to read but have been writing so much lately that I haven’t had a chance to read as many stories as I want. I’m also looking forward to spending time with my four granddaughters this summer. They are growing up so fast. I can’t believe the oldest...

Daley’s News Fall 2009

I can’t believe fall will be here in a couple of weeks. I did a blog recently about Christmas being just around the corner. It will be here before we know it, and I haven’t bought anything. Usually by now, I have most of my presents because I was teaching and knew my time after school started would be limited. I’m retired (Yay!!!) and don’t have to get anything until the last minute with tons of others out there shopping. With grandkids that’s important because they keep changing their mind with what they want. In a few days I’m attending the American Christian Fiction Writers’ annual conference in Denver. This year I’m teaching a continuing education class called How to Construct a Novel. Please pray that my PowerPoint works. Until you get to a...
